"It's hard to forget someone who gave me so much to remember."
- S. Kandampully -
My family is Louisiana Cajun. If you come over to our house, we’re cooking for you. That’s just who we are.
My great grandmother sewed quilts, and my grandmother after her. I picked up the family tradition when my youngest went off to college. I thought it was just empty-nesting--I never expected what it would grow into.
When my son-in-law unexpectedly passed, I knew I had to make something for the wife and daughters he left behind. I made a quilt out of his favorite shirts. I poured my heart into it. When I saw my granddaughters’ faces, I knew I had found my calling.
Family and friends asked for more quilts. I couldn’t keep up. Word spread, and I’ve made quilts for families all around the country. When you make something this precious for people, you just can’t help but get attached. I feel like I know every family I made a quilt for.
If you have a closet full of memories, I can make you something to cherish. Something you can pass down to your kids and them to theirs. Nothing would make me happier.
